    This is what have:

downstairs: a sky+ box with everything working fine

upstairs: a 2nd sky+ box with the power lead, freesat card

This is what i want to do:

Is there a way i can make the box upstairs work without paying the sky multi-room fee of £10 a month? If so what do I need to buy to do this? I want to be watching different channels in each room and all i want to watch is the freesat channels i don't require any additional ones.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hi and welcome to AVF.
You posted a thread with Sky in the header immediately below this request from forum admin:

Freesat is free so it doesn't use cards.
You'll need a Freesat receiver if you want to use it instead of Sky: http://www.freesat.co.uk/products/.
If your second Sky machine is connected to the dish, it should be working now, the way you want it.
If it isn't, connect it to one of the spare connections on the dish.
