I am having a devil of a job finding a suitable rack - perhaps my requirements are too tight but perhaps you can help.

    This is what I want

    (a) Wooden, with a chunky contempory look
    (b) To look expensive - real wood veneer as a minimum
    (c) Open front for equipment - don't want to have to open doors to load disks or use IR. Glass doors might be okay but mustn't look tacky.
    (d) Wider lower look - will be on a long wall and plasma will be wall mounted so that centre is at eyesight when sat on sofa.
    (e) To hold Amp (full size), DVD, Sky+, and possibly a switch and freeview.
    (f) A drawer to hold remotes and the DVDs being watched at the moment would be nice but not essential.
    (g) Upto to £800

Has anyone seen something like this? I'd appreciate any details.

    Thanks,

    Nigel

www.standsunique.com glass doors an option go for the chunky support option and it'll probably fulfill your needs and about right for your budget.

I'm trying to build something like this in high gloss white (not sure i can make this!)

BTW, Ikea PS cabinets will be less than half price (£59 to £25) from 5 Sep 2005 to 9 Sep 2005 as seasonal offer

    Hey Sunill,
How is the cabinet build going? Are you making it yourself or did you have a chat with a cabinet maker.

I would be interested to see how this turns out.

The only thing I wish I had spent more time on is the cable management within the cabinet. It took me over 12 hours to wire the whole lot up. I may if given some time take all the kit out, pull the cabinet out and rewire the whole lot again.
