I'm in the Market for a new DVD Player and am considering the Sony DVP-NS900 like the idea of the sacd compatability,

Or the Pioneer 747A DVD, DVD-A, SACD but wont really match my other kit.

I may keep my 735 player but it dont play cdr's which is a pain
allthough it will play some cdrw's ?

Or should I get a standalone SACD player if so which one?

I'm also getting the panasonic projector so this may help you to help me make a choice.

Oh and will soon have a dedicated HTPC too.

I've got deep pockets at the mo but I'm not a spendthrift and want whatever I get to last at least 2 - 3 years.

Cheers in advance for your help :)

I love my Pioneer 747A. I was considering a Sony 900NS a few months ago but it lacked MP3, 540 Line Res and a few other things.

I'd say the Pioneer 747A mainly because of the projector your buying too!

    Hope this helps!

So far as I can see SACD is a cheap technology for CD hardware manufacturers to produce. (Take an oversampling A to D converter and leave off the decimator. D to A can just be a simple analogue filter)

It's very early days for the format and the price of machines will drop dramatically if it is ever going to take off so I wouldn't spend a fortune on this aspect just now.
