    Hi,

Just bought the Tosh from LEConcepts for £699 (£300 less than any other website)...

I had a Pioneer-737 before and the Tosh is quite an imporvment (I was very surprised as I thought the 737 was good!!!).

Better picture, better movie sound, better CD sound, much better operation (much quieter, touch and feel etc). It is sooo well built also...

I was also lucky enough to get the last firmware for the player (version 0.20 I think). THis seems to allow RCE playback automatically rather than using the disc swap out method. Tested with R1 Hollowman after playing an R2 disc.

Give me a shout if you have any other Q's about the tosh...

Do you know if I could get the new firmware for my 900 and would it come on CD ROM as intended by Toshiba originally?

I can play RCE discs by stopping the disc before the Map comes up and then selecting 1 second in the time select option, but I'd love to simply be able to play any disc without any hassle!

    Cheers Kane

I guess you would have to contact a toshiba service centre for the firmware upgrade. However, if your player is multiregion this could put the player back to R2.

I'd contact the vendor who supplied the tosh as multiregion and ask if they would put on the latest firmware with the multiregion mod included - they may even say yes!!!

I'll do some more testing to double check the RCE bit. I assume my test was valid (please correct me or give another example of where yours fails), but will try with some other discs soon...
