    Hi,
I am currently recovering from losing an eBay auction involving a mint condition Sony TA-VA 777ES, which my research indicated was one of the best AV Amps/Receivers of all time, at any price (?!)..... which I could have had for less than £500.

Anyway, I have now been looking to purchase an AV Receiver new, and considering my budget have come up with the following options:

    - Harman/Kardon AVR630
    - Marantz SR7500
    - Yamaha RX-V1500

I am looking for the best true 'all-rounder', as 2 channel reproduction for music is equally (if not slightly more) important as Film viewing. Video inputs will be generally unimportant.

This will be the first component I will be buying for my eventual AV setup (excluding a Sony DVP-NS900V DVD/SACD player, already in use) so your advice does not need to include speaker suitability.

If there are any other models in this price range which you think fit the bill then please let me know.

    Many thanks in advance.
