Wife and I hate the Pioneer Sc2023 so looking to upgrade.

Narrowed it down to the Onkyo TXRZ800 or the Denon AVRX4200. Had the Onkyo 875 before and like the brute force it provided but didn't like the HDMI issues. Not that bothered about Atmos but the Denon does handle HDR which might be useful in the future.
Is the Denon worth £50 more?

TIA
Ossie

Onkyo have dropped Audyssey on their receivers and now use a proprietary system called AccuEQ. This system hasn't been well received and is heavilly criticised. The Denon includes Audyssey's MultEQ XT32 room EQ correction.

The DEnon also has an inbuilt HDMI matrix that gives it true second zone HDMI capabilities. The receiver has 3 HDMI outputs, 2 of which are mirrored while the third is a dedicated second zone output.

Both receivers will passthrough HDR10 metadata and both are rated as being fully UHD compliant. It isn't just the AVRX4200 that has such abilities.

Recently replaced my TX-NR808 following a second HDMI board failure!

Went for the Denon 4200 and I'm delighted with it!!! No UHD passthrough problems at all. All worked first time.
