Hi all

A long time ago I brought a Toshiba WLT 66 37" based on the good advice in here. Finally wanting to have 1080P I am trying to decide between 3 sets.

Le40a656 (I love the looks of this set and it has a nice price)
Le40a686 (this set appears to have the same spec as above but a nasty looking stand, but it will be wall mounted so not an issue)

and
KDL40w4500 (overall specs look great but cost is a lot more than the others)

I will have 4 HD devices hooked up, Virgin V+ (Sd tv by default but do watch downloadable content and their are rumours that HD will be out by june this year), Xbox 360 ( I know its games are compiled at 720p but this is used most nights for my gaming), PS3 (more for BluRay than its games but do play some games) and popcorn hour a-110( for any home made MKV files I might have ;) )

The current set is on its own stand so the new one will be further back by about 12"s when it is mounted on the wall.

Whilst I would love to say cost is not a problem, I can afford any of the sets but would I notice what would be £200 ish of Sony extra's with the Sony?

Also, what is the difference between the two Samsungs?

We sit around 2.5 to 3 mtrs away from the set so no need to go any bigger really but any help as to which way I should go would help me loads as I am now spending days and days reading the same stuff and still not finding an answer :lease:

A hard one to answer unless someone owns or three models. I can only speak of the W4500 as I have one. I think its a fantastic set, well worth the money. Yes you can buy cheaper makes but I just like Sony.

The W4500 is very highly rated in all the 'What TV' type mags and I can't say I disagree with them. Will you notice £200 worth of difference, maybe, maybe not, without buying all three you will never know.

hi there

The difference between the 656 and 686 is apparently purely cosmetic 686 has slightly less red tint (well looks completely black until direct sunlight lands on it:thumbsup:)

And funnily enough i prefer the square stand on the 686

The 686's PQ is (imho) excellent both SD and blu ray (ps3):D

Spec wise they are very similar to the sony :)

Basically you pays your money you takes your choice:thumbsup:

Dont think you can go wrong with the Samsungs though:smashin:

Regards
