I have recently gotten a scientific atlantic 8000 dvr recorder from Time Warner and was wondering if there was a way to activate the usb port on the box and then record a movie onto the hard drive of the dvr, then transfer that movie from the hard drive of the dvr to a computer in order to burn that movie to dvd. Is there a way to do that??

I am trying to do the samething but it seems that no one knows how to do this other than removing the hard drive itself and pulling the video off the drive
