    Hello all,

    Any advice gratefully received......

I've had my LG RX42PX11 since November 2004 and had no problems at all, until today....

All working fine this morning, put in standby when we went out for a couple of hours, switched back on... no picture ! Arrgghhh!!!!

Sound still playing through ok, no menu or any display, just blackness. I presume it's still under warranty (bought from Comet 10 months ago..). Any advice ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Brian

Yeah, ring Comet up. Sorry might not be particularly helpful but it's all you can do really

call comet. there should be a number on the receipt. they will send an engineer out. its then up to him if they repair it or you get a new one. I think thats still how it works. its what happened when my last tv broke

It might just decide to come on again, but you are always going to worry. Report it busted, get it replaced.

    Thats cool, thanx guys,

I'll give Comet a call tomorrow. It was an internet purchase so don't have a receipts as such, but did print off my order confirmation & have the credit card statement and a letter from comet offering a 4 year warranty which also has Ref number, date of purchase etc... will this be ok ?

Currently watching the 14" potable from the bedroom, not nice !

    Thanks again,

    Bri

You only need 'proof of purchase' for such things, not the warranty papers, which you might as well use as toilet paper. The delivery note would be a useful extra, but as they are always delivered AFTER payment, the CC statement will do nicely.

Thanks for the reassurance MAW, much appreciated !!

I'm a bit of a born worrier about these thing (yet I never take out the extended warranties!! May have to do so this time for peace of mind).

Once again, thanks everyone for your help & advice, very much appreciated.

    Regards

    Brian
