I have spent hours trying to solve this without success.

When I burn a Super VCD at 480 x 576 I get , like a verical ripple on fast movements.

    Thats the problem.....

My process steps are as follows.
Capture using Pinnacle DC10plus analogue card at full res 768x 576 and import straight into Adobe premier. All stages set at 480 x 576 (SVCD)

I use bottom field for all including export.

Then to Avisynth and TMPGenc. Select Interlace and bottom frame

Use Nero to burn. But the result on TV is very poor with movement. It looks like the fields and not precessed individually - there is a lot of blocky ness etc

I have tried non- interlaced but similar results.
I don't know for certain whether my capture card actually captures iusing 2 fields per frame- is this in the MJPEG format?

So come on all you experts ot there- I need your advice!!

Just to let anyone know with the same problem- I have fixed it,

When you capture do not use the TV cropping option 720 x 540
Always use 768 x 576 or else you will be in trouble further down the line.
I now use premier at the same res and tmpgenc to down size to 480 x 576 before burning a vcd
