It's a pozi drive. Looks like a decking screw. Of some sort.

I know you said it is external but it looks like a drywall screw to me.


I remember ‘turbo’ screws, think they were twin threaded so they would advance twice as much for each turn of the driver (or something like that).

Notice the ones I have linked are called EasiDrive and are described as having double threads. Maybe that is the new name replacing ‘turbo’.

Am a big fan of the Torx heads myself.

Ahhhh. I wasn't sure if they were Gyproc screw's for plasterboard....

I too am a fan of a torx screw myself. However I am in the process of putting up fence cladding over a brick wall and I had used a load the screws in my picture so was wanting to get more to match them.

sadly Screwfix is not stocking them at the moment or completely sold out or both.

thankfully I had 50mm screws of the same size so they were able to almost complete the job bar 1 screw 😊. I am now onto my 60mm screws... nearly finished though.
