    Hiya people.....

    I have a JVC TH-A30R home cinema kit. It features the following:

    Center Unit
    Left Front Speaker
    Center Speaker
    Right front Speaker
    Left Rear Speaker
    Right Rear Speaker
    Subwoofer

    Total - 5 speakers, 1 subwoofer.

    I have a dilema, after trying to achieve a better sound experience, i seem to have completely messed up the volumes in relation to my speakers.

    The sound of my speakers can be adjusted as follows:

    Center Speaker = (-6dB to +6 dB)
    Rear = (-6dB to +6dB)
    Subwoofer = (-6dB to +6dB)
    Front = (-0 to -6)
    Rear = (-0 to -6)

    If anyone can supply me with the appropriate sound levels for a good quality, home cinema experience, i would be extremely grateful.

    Many thanks

    Jay

    I had this system, my first cinema system.

    I tried all sorts of variations to improve sound and picture but didnt succed. In the end I used my old budget DVD player and purchased a cheap Sony amp, you will not believe the difference this made, it blows the JVC system away.
    Since then I have purchased a better DVD player and am in process of upgrading amp and speakers.

    My advice would be seperates are the way to go and you will achieve the sound you want

    Does the JVC have a 'restore factory defaults' option? I'd suggest using htis or set everything to zero and then make small adjustments until you are happy - sound quality is a subjective thing and room size/shape and furnishings mean there is no best set up you can generically use.
