I have a samsung ws32m64v 32" flat screen TV, and when watching tv/dvds the picture ghosts to the right, and i dont have any idea how to get rid of it.
Say for example i hit pause on the dvd then where the player says paused onscreen in white, it will ghost/bleed to the right, same thing happens with lights and other bright colours with a dark backgound near to the light source.

Reducing the contrast seems to clear it but then the pictures too washed out to watch!

Have i just got a bad telly or somthing as its driving me nuts!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :lease:

    Thanks

I think he means you have bad convergence which (I think) means the TVs tubes beams are crossing slightly causing a ghosting image (If this is true then it should be on all inputs not just your DVD, it could be that you have a dud DVD player).

Static bright objects leaving a trail to the right when displayed against a dark background sounds like harmonic streaking.

Some tv's suffer from this as a result of design flaws. Has your tv always had this problem, and how old is it?

I have a Samsung WS28VNE and it has always displayed this behaviour too.

Most annoying when the onscreen display smears itself across the screen!

I have a look at the service manual and there is no mention of this problem however there have been other posts about it.

I am about to try and calibrate my set with the help of DVE as i have found a number of other issues with the setup of my TV.

I am going to stick the results up on the web along with my attempts at DIY mains cables so i will post back if I find anything that helps.

It sounds as though the harmonic streaking on this set is a design fault. If that's the case, rectifying this problem might not be possible.

Hopefully someone might have some suggestions.

Sorry, reading your post again it seems like too much contrast.

How high have you set it?

Do you mean ghosting or smearing?

no your probably right, it goes if the contrast is set to the same colour as the streak/convergence/ghosting whatever.

Really annoying and upsetting, could a tv repair company fix this or is it buggered for good?
