Help - Getting Dolby Digital 5.1 from SkyHD to Panasonic SC-HT500 ?

Wondered if anyone out there has the Panasonic SC-HT500 connected to a Sky +/HD box to receive 5.1 sound?

The box has an optical out and the Pana amp only has SCART and Phono inputs.

Maplins do an Optical to Phono convertor : (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=29293&&source=14&doy=3m8)

but I am not sure if the phono inputs on the receiver will process the digital 5.1 signal ?

Anyone tried it, or know of any other way to acheive 5.1 from an external source on this home theater system ?

It looks like that adaptor converts digital optical to digital coaxial, not phono.

As far as I am aware there is no way to connect Sky HD to your system for 5.1, as you have no optical input.

Does Sky HD have phono outs? If so you may have to connect it to your system using phono leads and settle with Pro Logic or Pro Logic II sound (depending on what your panny surpports).
