Hi - can anyone help ? I'm thinking of getting the Afterburner from lik-sang - has anyone ordered recently ? Looked through AVF threads and found only a few snippets. Searching www.lik-sang.com for AFTERBURNER throws up the following -

    GBA Afterburner Kit (Frontlit) - US$ 24.90 (~15.49 GBP)
    GBA Afterburner Pack SP^2 (Milky Pink) - US$ 29.90 (~18.60 GBP)
    GBA Afterburner Case (Gold) - US$ 12.95 (~8.06 GBP)

    (along with lots of colours)

    So, a few questions -
    * Are lik-sang a reliable supplier ?
    * Is it the 'Frontlit' kit I need ? Isn't it much cheaper than it used to be ?
    * for only £3 extra I may as well order a new case as part of the 'pack', so I don't need to cut my old one - make sense ?
    * And if I get a new case, which colour is best ? Are the cases genuine Nintendo ? And if not, are they of equal quality ? (I currently have the pale see-through blue, but quite fancy a silver or platinum).
    * Can I post off my GBA (or take it in) somewhere in the UK, to get the kit fitted ? (I've read about the dust problems, and the flimsy film !)

Oh - and I suppose I'd better say I prefer the small size of the current model to the new model out in March, and as a casual gamer I can't really justify the expense. (Plus I am a bit peeved about the short life-span of the current model ! - have Nintendo admitted the lack of back-light was a mistake ?)

Thanks in advance for any Advance advice !

Sell your GBA now, before the general public hear about the SP, and then buy that.

If you are that casual you can live without it for a little while :)

got some cool t-shirts from liksang. delivered within stated time and got a email keeping me up2date with my order and when it shipped.
i think though that they have been taken over now and are slightly more commercial.
one of the local specialist use/d them as a supplier too.

Reliable - YES but not the most customer support friendly people to deal with in my experience.

YES - the price was recently dropped when the news of the GBA SP broke.

Absolutely makes sense though read on for other options.

Can't answer this though the cases are NOT genuine Nintendo ones. I doubt they would be off equal quality but probably not far off. In any case you will always have your original case should you wish to refit it.

Recommended - read my post in the following thread as to why you should not perform the installation yourself:

I'm with Sinzer in suggesting you flog your current GBA and buy the SP when it comes out. However if you're absolutely set on the original GBA with Afterburner installed, then don't bother buying any kits from Lik-Sang. Instead send it to the following for fitting:

    http://www.xyramax.co.uk/catalog/default.php

Includes the kit and fitting for £45 :). They are reliable and do a good job.

    Hope this helps.
