I want to get a webcam for my dear old mum to be able to communicate and 'see' our child.......................however I dont know anything about them so can I say what I'd like and hopefully someone can tell me what to do-noddies guide please-

I want a webcam at her house and my home pc so I can call her using internet skype thing (she has broadband) that has good colour PQ and sound but not expensive(pensioner), plus I'd like software that I can access the webcam from my pc and it activates without her having to get to the pc and 'do things' as shes very frail and wouldnt have a clue what to press etc

Is this possible and easy for a techy noob like me to set up with some help here?

    Thanks

You will need some sort of remote access to your mums pc.

    https://secure.logmein.com/products/free/

You can also use msn messenger for remote access. :)

Either that or just put a shortcut on your mums desktop which launches her webcam and skype to autostart on boot.
