    Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a new tv, up to 47 inches.

It's primarily for watching films (HD) and playing games.

I'm not bothered at all about 3d or any of the other potential features really.

I'd like to buy it from John Lewis with the guarantee and it's closeby.

    Otherwise richersounds or online.

    Really appreciate your help.

I will go up to £750 if you have a particularly good recommendation.

The room is fairly bright and viewing distance is 6.5 ft.

Presumably you've been to have a look. I was in JL yesterday and I have to say the Sonys look very good - I fear the budget won't stretch though I'm afraid, unless 40" will suffice (and even then from JL the budget is tight)

With the budget and size requirement - LG may be the best chance, so RS more likley to help you out

Get thee to the shops and have a look :)

Appreciate the advice, I'm looking at the Samsung UE46ES5500 LED HD 1080p for just over 700.

It's that or Sony Bravia KDL46HX753BU LED at 900 but not sure it's worth the jump in price.

    Any thoughts?
