Help: File Transfer On NW-HD3 Between computers

Hi anyone out there know if it’s possible to transfer files using sonic stage between two computers? My partner has a minidisk, I have the NW HD3. I keep getting an error message that the files originated from another computer. She’s using v2.0 sonic stage, I’m on v.2.3. Would installing 2.3 allow me to transfer straight to my unit or is this some annoying Sony attempt at copyright protection?
