My Marantz SR4200 receiver has just developed a problem. I have it connected via digital coax to an HTPC which feeds it a Dolby Digital signal and it now randomly displays 'protect' on the display and switches to standby.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me, please? :lease:

Slightly ironic - I have just moved house and converted the garage to a cinema. Now I have pictures, but no sound.

Since you have chaged the position of the Receiver - is it possible that you have cut of the *air Supply* to it? That could cause it to overheat and shut down. Another possibility would be that you have a conection Problem with the Speakers - check all the cables for a possible short circuit - this can be caused by two hair-thin wires touching each other.

    Thanks, Gradzi.

There was a short between the plugs at the rear right speaker end. Working fine again.

    Much obliged,

    Matt
