    Hi,

I need help deciding between Onkyo TX-SR602 & Pioneer VSX-1014.
I mostly plan to use it for movies first then music.

    I'm replacing a Sony STR-DE945.

I currently have 5 speakers total.

2 x infinity reflex and sony 3 piece surround set. (but these can be slowly replaced as $$ allows.) So I need the best amp for now.

    Thanks in advance!

That is an almost impossible choice :), both amps are fantastic. I'd add the Marantz SR7500 to the list too, just to spice things up :D

To be honest mate, none of the amps mentioned so far have any real weak points. The infinities would work well with any of them too. It really is down to tiny miniscule nit picking trying to seperate those three amps (1014, 602 and 7500).

To complicate things further, you should also try to check out the Denon 2805 and Yamaha RXV1500. None of the amps are bad, just different types of greatness :D
