    Hi!

My name is Becky. I've got a Panasonic TX-47PT1 Projection Television, bought in 2000, widescreen 47 inch.

Yesterday, blue and yellow warped patches appeared on the screen when I switched on my set. They were still there when I switched the mains power off/on. These patches appear on terrestrial, digital and DVD, so it's definitely a problem with the set.

After some further investigation with the manual, we finally deduced it was a problem with "convergence". However, we've been unable to properly resolve it using the automatic convergence function that comes with the TV. It seems impossible to align the lines in accordance with the instructions! And I don't know why this problem has arisen now.

Can any of you wise people help to solve the problem?

Hello Becky and welcome to the Forum. :)

Discoloured patches are usually the result of stray magnetic fields.

Have you by chance moved a loudspeaker close to the TV?
