basically i've just bought myself a lcd widescreen samsung pc monitor for uni, and i want to be able to connect my xbox 360 to it (because of the small amount of space in uni halls i cant fit a tv in 2).

the screen has dvi and vga connections.

anyone got any ideas how i can connect the scart from the xbox/freeview box to the monitor.

    thanks in advance.

ps i'm not sure if this is the right section to post in...

To connect the 360 you'll need to buy the VGA cable, which IMO gives you the best picture anyway.

Not sure about the freeview box though.

This is the right section ;)

ive got an LG widescreen with a d-sub (VGA) and a dvi connectors. I have xbox360 connected with the VGA cable, and my pc connected with dvi.

I think if you wanted to connect a settop box you'd have been better getting a pc tv monitor, they're like regular monitors but have extra connections for devices that you'd usually plug into a tv.

/\/\/\ Same as above but with a Daewoo screen. I have the Daewoo 22" widescreen PC monitor which has dvi and vga connections. When i am using my xbox360 on it i connect via VGA cable and the picture looks fantastic  But to ecco the second post, you will have to buy yourself an Xbox360 VGA lead. Look on the forsale section of the Forums as i am sure you will find a second hand one on there !! Regards Si

thanks for the really quick replys.

is there not a kind of converter. say from a scart (or rby plugs) to d sub vga?

i'm thinking more for the freeview box...if not i might invest in a monitor with a tv tuner

    DVI may accept RGB/Component possiby?

If not some vid capture card in the PC may be an easier solution & offer recording too.

You can also get a VGA switch if both your PC and xbox are on VGA.
