OK - I'm doing some leg work for my friend who is planning a custom install in his Mini (original, not BINI). I've found a 12" JBL sub I was happy with before, powered off a cheapish 150Watt amp. The headunit is going to be http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pro...=3028&osCsid=80a55e2ab49f45e1c44d26040fc0f116 most probably. Because he isn't really after high volume, just a decent sound I'm planning to just power the speakers from the HU.

I recon component speakers will be best as the cars never had any HiFi before I can start totally from scratch. Because its a budget install I don't really know what component speakers to pick ... was looking at

These ... are they any good - are there better ones for that sort of price range?

I had a pair of Kenwood Mids and tweeters in my escort mk5 and they were really crisp and tight, but they were all runing through a amp and a EQ, if you can i would run all the speakers through a amp. and a 12" sub thats going to be alot of bass in such a small car. (like it)
Where in the world are you as ive got a
12" JL AUDIO in a box (model name escapes me but its dual ohm) and a Rockford 150.1 amp to go with it
    pair of MB Quarts 6x9
    Pioneer and JBL 5 inch
    JBL 200w Amp 4x35w
Alpine 90w (Ideal for powering 6x9's)
sitting in my garage doing nothing as i cant fit it in my new car as all the amp feeds are Fibre Optic and dont want to mess with it.
How much was all the speakers going to cost you?
