I have a (now old) Canon MV20i (Elura 20). I purchased Canopus EZDV years ago and was using that as my capture card. I have recently upgraded my PC and can now capture directly via firewire. Question is, which capture technique will give me the best quality? Disk space not an issue.

    Cheers Sean

A bog standard firewire port will capture the video from a digital camcorder with 100% quality. Therefore I see no reason to use any additional hardware to capture from your camcorder.
