Im trying to plan how im going to do this and need some advice.

Due to the trees outside our house & lousy brickwork we cant have Sky+ and dont like any of the other free standing PVR's.

I want to use my PC for recording TV & hopefully making it easier to connect my digital camcorder to for editing my home vids.

Problem is I dont know which TV card to buy? I dont really want to spend a fortune, but ive been impressed by showshifter and would like it to be compatible with whatever card I buy.

The next problem is do I connect my telewest box to the tv card using RF cables? If I do, to make things easier should I go for a second telewest box dedicated to my PC so I could record one channel & watch another??

As the PC is about 10mtrs away from my TV the plan is to save all recordings I do to a networked shared folder and use XBMC to play the recordings on the TV using the xbox.

Ones ive seen vary in price, but all seem capable of doing the job, which one shoudl I go for?

Can't help with TV cards but for connecting STBs many people use a Sweetspot. It works with ShowShifter I believe.

The last one will not work for you as its a digital tuner and if you are going to be using it with cable you need an analogue one

Does that mean I can go for one of the cheaper cards if it has to be analogue?? As I mentioned in my previous post, it doesnt have to be the best quality, just compatible with showshifter and easy to setup.
