Playing back a pre recorded DVD last night, thorughout the movie, there were many brief breaks in the sound. They only lasted for a second, but nevertheless spoilt the enjoyment of the film.

I have checked all my amp connections, etc. I am playing using a Philips DVDR70 could this be a faulty player or something I missed in setup? It also skips tracks on CD-R's I have compiled. But maybe that is a different problem (my method of recording the CDR?)
