    2) If need help and information about home cinema read on...

Help and information about home cinema
If you are not too interested in the specification of the kit and you have a budget of £10,000 and above, then the best option for you may be a home cinema installation by one of many custom installers. They will do the complete job from start to finish including any building work, specifying, sourcing and installing the fixtures and fittings and the equipment. Once the kit is installed they will then calibrate the picture and sound to give you the best possible home cinema experience.
Click here to see our directory of home cinema installers.

Most AV Forums visitors want advice on what kit best suits their circumstances and where to buy it from. When they have purchased the kit, they often need help with installation, setting up and tweaking.
The AV Forums is one of the best websites in the UK for this information.

    • Do as much research as you can before you ask your questions.
    • If you want to know what kit to buy, check out our database of reviews.
    • If you are broadening your knowledge about AV then read the articles at the home cinema choice website.
    • Before you post your question, use the search facility to see if someone else has already asked it. It may be possible to find the answer you are looking for very quickly.
    • If you have several questions, address them one at a time rather than overwhelm readers with too many.
    • Choose the most appropriate forum for your question.
    • Compose a thread title which in as few words as possible summaries your question.
    • Compose your question in a word processor such as Word to avoid spelling and grammatical errors.
    • Provide as much background information as you think might be relevant to help people answer your question.
    • Be polite and courteous.
    • Quickly check that you have not broken any forum rules in your post.
If you follow the above advice, someone will probably answer your question quickly. And when you have experience putting together your own home cinema, come back to the forums and share it with others. Responding to other people asking questions and following in your footsteps helps build the community.

How about a basic introduction outlining what happens at various post counts such as being able to activate an Avatar and when your member status changes from Junior to normal to Senior to Veteran and explaining about the Manufacturer and Retailer tags? :)

There are also Retailers, Mods, Manufacturers and any other custom title that Stuart wishes to add.

Stuart, I think Steve's point is that a lot of the Help is generic vB stuff with lots of If your administrator has enabled... which isn't much help to most users. :)

How do you quote someone but only use part of the quote - like a single sentence out of a paragraph? I've tried everything & meant to ask months ago...
