Could anyone tell me what the RGB EXT scart plug on my Samsung 910MP is for ? At first I thought it was an input but I'm guessing the EXT means no ! I tried plugging my Sky and DVD player in and got nothing, is it to output the RF to a video recorder ?

    Educate me please ! :smashin:

What's the Samsung 910MP? A DVD player or a TV?

I always thought "EXT" stood for "External" as in "External Source".

They'll be referring to VGA/D-SUB (the computer connector).

That link looks American so it's not surprising they don't mention SCART. It's odd that you're not getting any picture though - if the socket is marked for RGB over SCART it should work just fine...

Have you tried switching your DVD player or Sky decoder to output a Composite signal, does that work? Not ideal but it would help track down the problem. (Composite is mislabeled as "PAL" in the options of the Sky decoder).

I havent yet no, and thinking about it the Sky is outputting as RGB coz its been outputting that to my Toshiba downstairs. I'll try changing it tonight when I get home and see what happens. I just wanted to make sure that the Scart socket wasnt an output rather than an input. Maybe its just a knackered connection ?

Weird because even if Sky is outputting RGB I would of thought you would still get a picture just probably all one colour

Has the Monitor got Composite Inputs??

But there's an RGB SCART socket on the back as well - that should be working perfectly. I say give Samsung a call and ask what's going on.
