    Hi all,

Got a AE100 which is just over a year old with 650 hours on the clock (fan on high, lamp on low, of course!) Just noticed what I can only describe as a discoloration in the lower part of the screen to the right hand side, I suppose about 1/10 of the screen is discolored, there are no hard edges and it is most visible on scenes with white in them giving it a greeny, yellow hue. Please can someone tell me it just needs cleaning cos I'm a poverty stricken nurse and if its terminal then my HC days are over cos I haven't finished paying for it yet!

Keeping my fingers crossed for some sound (and cheap) advice.

    Pete,

The discolour is caused by the lcd panels getting warm and slightly warping.
I have a slight purple tinge to the right of my image.
It cannot be fixed unless you opt to pay for new LCD panels which would be to costly.
Its not terminal you just have to learn to live with it.

It would only need cleaning if you had dust blobs or maybe bulit up grime on the panels.

Is it like a band of discolourasion or a blotch.
If its a like a blotch or smudgh it could be dust on the lcd panel.
If its a smudgh it could be blown off with compressed air, but you have to be careful if you attempt this.
If its bugging you, you could send it to Panasonic for evaluation, but it could be costly.
