Hello All
I'm in need of some help and advice in setting up my TV and all the devices that I want to view through it, to get the optimum picture and sound quality experience. I know this is a lot to ask of you all, but I kind of lost as to utilising all the connections of all my devices to get the best results. I'd ideally like 4K resolution where possible, but I also would like all my devices, or at least as many as is possible, to output 5.1 surround sound. I'll list my devices below and any details that may be relevant or of importance.
Toshiba 65U2963DB 4K HDR TV (3 x HDMI (1 x ARC), optical audio out)
Panasonic SA-BTT270 Blu Ray 5.1 surround home cinema system (1 x HDMI ARC, optical audio out)
Sky Q 1TB Box
Amazon Fire TV Box
Xbox One X
Playstation 3
Obviously I only have 3 HDMI ports on the TV so I am going to have to use an HDMI switch to be able to output all my devices through the TV.
I would be extremely grateful if any of you could spare the time and give me any ideas on how to set all of this up so I can achieve 4K resolution on all compatible devices, and have 5.1 surround sound. Things in particular I'm interested in is whether the ARC functions would benefit with surround sound, or would digital optical audio be a possible solution, also any recommendations for a HDMI switch that would help with this setup.
I know it's a lot to ask, but I would really appreciate any help and advice on this, and I'd gladly provide any other info if needed. Many thanks in advance.
