I am looking to build a new pc but I am really unsure on the build as I anticipate a lot of new hardware very soon so not sure if I should wait. If it's months away for new hardware I don't think I will wait for 10-20% gains but if it's weeks then I will.

It's for gaming, development and dual boot OSX. Future plans would probably be surround gaming, can't imagine I would ever go 4K on this build.

Been debating a couple things like the xl2420t vs the vg248qe monitors and a 770 vs 780 but other than that I would be happy unless a 4790K and a 880 came out in the next couple of weeks.

Can someone have a look and see if I have closed a good build please and suggest if I wait or not.

    Main idea is

    Maximus VI Gene
    8GB 2400
    4770K
    AX860
    GTX780DCUII
    350D
    H105 (if it will fit)
    144hz 24" Monitor
    240GB Nuetron
    250GB 840EVO (OSX)
2TB WD Black or MomentusXT (Steam/Origin)
    K70 keyboard
    M65 mouse

    Thanks

3840x2160 is 8 megapixels, right in the middle of the typical surround gaming range (three 1920x1080 monitors is 6MP, five are 10MP).

They won't. nVidia are still releasing the 700 series (the 750, 750Ti and Titan black only came out a week ago). The rumours on the 4790K say June, but really when you're buying an overclockable chip it's irrelevant what the stock clock speed is.

The rest of the system looks ok, DDR3-2400 doesn't offer much for gaming and most other applications so you may want to downgrade to whatever the best value is at the moment (DDR3-1866 I think). It's also worth checking the noise levels of the hard drive you end up going for as some of the WD black drives can be noisy and as you're getting minimal benefit from them it's not worth putting up with the volume.

    Thanks for your advice.

I was hoping Nvidia and intel were only going to refrsh around June. I was originally thinking the 4790K is June but past couple days it's looked like it was going to be announced much sooner.

I chose the 2400 as it was on offer, about £2 or £3 extra.

What HDD would you recommend for steam/origin. Would need 1TB+ and I just think an SSD would be overkill.

    Thanks

Could I squeeze the H105 in a 350D or would I have to use the H100i?
