Hey there :)

i recently decided that a new tv is in order.
after missing a red hot chili peppers gig in sheffield
(stupid friend being late) i went on a bit of a spending spree
to cheer myself up. as you do

so i went out and bought a New Amp-5.1 reciever, sub woofer, xbox 360 and my sony 50 big big tv :) bit of a step up from a 21" not bad for only being 17 eh :) lol

but the tv arrived on this wednesday, i set it up everything was running smoothly. then i was working away on the thursday night so i couldnt spend more time with it :( lol gutted. then on the friday night. well last night
the picture started to become weird. and sort of Gridlines appeared.
this really boggles my mind as they are Perfect lines dotted and dashed vertical all the way across the screen. i cant seem to get rid of them
apart from when i press menu. they change to around the menu and then disapear and come back. i think its something to do with the On Screen Display but being a noob im probably wrong. ive included a few pictures. could anybody have a look and see what they could recommend ? :)

and damn sony tv helpline for only being open monday to friday!

well, you check cables, interference, blah, blah......it's knackered! send it back and get a better tv. unless you sit 1 mile away from this tv, it's TOO big. even if you do get a new one you'll soon notice the infamous SSE, which will slowly eat away at your soul till you feel like the undead, doomed to walk the earth for eternity with SSE permantly etched into your eyeballs. :suicide:

yeah i installed it myself
it was all fine and good until the 3rd day of having it (well 2nd day of use)

its from littlewoods the only thing is cause we paid in full
not like on the catalogue drip. im worried they wont do anything about it
cause theyve already got the money. so im going to speak to sony first too

yeah sounds like the right way to go about it . Hopefully you`ll get someone who knows what they`re talking about . If it`s a faulty set you`ll get a replacement no probs .

If the TV is at fault, Littlewoods as the retailer are OBLIGED to do something about it. This is 100% their responsibility, not Sony's.

I assume from what you say that this is occurring on all inputs and sources and not just the XBox. If it is confined to just one source, it might be worth confirming that the source (XBox) isn't to blame.

well i spoke to sony, they said because its within the 7 days
littlewoods have to replace it. but as i was at work i had to have
my mum call up.. i knew they'd give her the run around and try and avoid
it until the 7 days was over or something. at first they "said they'd call back"

i said its not like im calling a friend or something im calling a retail help line, you dont call back. they didnt.. so i told her phone them again when they finally got around to saying yes they'd replace the set they then said they'd call back with a date.. still waiting for that date to be arranged lol. today is the 7th day.
they said it will be replaced before this week is over. better had,
i miss my tv :(

oh and yes. its all sources, not just the xbox. i used the xbox for pictures cause of its bright colours on the display so they lines would photograph easier lol :)

thanks to everybody who helped on here. i'll let you know when
ever littlewoods bother to get off their arses! x
