Hi guys, new to the forums and there doesn't seem to be a place for this :)

Anyhoo, im new because I have yet to buy any AV stuff and was wondering what you guys thought of this setup.

http://lamppost.mine.nu/ahclan/files/newtele.zip - 600K Its has images for folks that just want to judge the looks and links to where im buying it. P.S. I've got sky so don't need a tuner

Basicaly I was looking to spend £2500 on a full setup and this is what I came up with.

I'm asking you guys to just point out anything stupid i've done or just point out a crap place im buying from, or crap hardware even if you think it just looks crap :)

Im looking to buy a PS3 in the future and will probably get a minimac / pc to hook up sooner or later if you think there will be any problems in that area.

I've measured out cable length for speakers, 33 meters.... ehhh thats about all I can think ive got to add.... oh yeah, my only gripe I have personaly with the whole setup is I want a DVD with JPG playback, but that samsung looks so sexy but it don't have it :( (Basicaly for a QUITE, not laptop setup, picture on the wall idea)

Cheers in advance guys and "Hello to you all"

The actual kit looks great but if I were spending that much money I'd spend a little more (but not too much more) on the cabling as hardware like that deserves it.

Something like QED SQART lead for example, will cost £40-50 but is worth it.

AV Sales, Maplins and SuperFi have got good reviews from people regards service etc., not sure about 121Electricals? Also, whilst the Samsung DVD Player looks great I don't think it's quality will match something like a Pio 575.

also consider the PWD7 (commercial spec panny) from AV-sales £1370 inc mount and delivery (could swap mount for terminal board, dual slot, give them a call) I would also suggest you have a look at the Canton CD1 speakers and the rest of the CD range the CD100 etc

Cheers guys, as per your advice I started looking for a better DVD player. I wasn't fond of style of the Pioneer 575 so looked a little bit more and found a nice Sony slot loading beast:

    http://ws2.pricerunner.jibelectrical.co.uk/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=SON-DVPLS755P

However, I couldn't find a review on it so any advice on whether its any good would help :) SOOO unable to find out if it was any good, I looked some more and found the matching Denon DVD player for my AMP:

    http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo.cfm/product_id/1959

I found reviews that say its a good all-rounder but the sony looks better IMO :) (yes im totaly into looks)

Any sugestions what to go for?

As for the scart, im not accutaly going to buy the one I listed as I don't need it. I was just saving myself the link but cheers for the advice anyway.

Speakers: Are these the Cantons CD1's you talking about?

The £40 worth the difference over the Mordaunt-Short Avant Premiere's I was looking at?

    Cheers again guys.

P.S. Preffer the idea of the 42inch over the 37 :D Plus I cant find a review on the PWD7 :(
