Hell Freezes Over

Never was a fan of the Eagles, but bought this DVD following recommendations on this site.

WOW!! If you want an excellent example of DTS 5.1 this is it, you feel like you're sitting on the edge of the stage.

Any others I'm missing out on?

Yeah, the Sting DVD (All this Time) is pretty dammed good too ! Possibly a little bass heavy but that may just be my setup, but nevertheless well worth £15.

Eagles is great. I've had the region 1 disc for a few years. I don't know about the feeling of being at the stage though, the percussion comes from behind - a bit weird.

Maybe you're meant to feel like one of the band ;)

Try "Stop making sense" by Talking Heads.
Great live show , sound excellent including a terrific version of "Burning down the house" :)

Also The Band's "Last Waltz" directed by Martin Scorcese.

alan - Eagles HFO still has the best sound on a concert DVD I have heard (& I have about 30-40 such DVDS)
Worth a listen if you like them is The Corrs Unplugged ; Don Henley Live Inside Job ; Yes Symphonic (my current fave)
I have just ordered another which is raved about for sound quality Live in Paris - Diana Krall (£7 at the mo with ezydvd in Oz - just ordered that & EC Live at Hyde Park)
My son has just got me the new Dave Gilmour - In Concert & that reminds me the Roger Waters In the Flesh Live is excellent too ...
HTH - Paul ;)

Diana Krall - Live In Paris (DTS) is easily the best sounding dvd i have ever heard.

You can still find it for £9-99 in HMV - Bargain !

Taz yes that was MHO but I think you prefer to look at the Corrs than a load of ageing rockers (& I cant fault your eyesight!)
I still think HFO sounds the best ;)

The Eagles was the first dts surround sound music dvd
that I bought about 18 months ago and I was so impressed
by the quality of the sound compared to ordinary cd's that
since then I have purchased lots more dts titles- some
really good, some not so good.
One disc has stood out from all the rest though and that is
Sting's Brand New Day dts 5.1 cd.
That's right, a no picture cd!
It's recorded in a way that means it won't play on a normal
cd player but as long as you have a dts capable amp. and
a dvd player ( any region ) you will experience a surround
mix that will blow your mind!
You don't even have to like Sting to appreciate the quality
of the sound on this disc, it really is that good.
You can only get these dts 5.1 cd's from the States or canada.
www.dvdboxoffice.com has these in stock and it is a site that
I have used a lot over the last 3 years and although shipping
times can be longer than other sites ( about 8 to 20 days ),
shipping is free and I have never had a problem with them.
Look under their music section and click on the link "digital cd".
You will not be dissapointed!
Also try Queen's Greatest hits vol. 1 dvd, crap picture but it's
worth buying for the dts surround mix of Bohemian Rhapsody
alone- Very aggressive!!!
Hope I've been of help.
