Anyone recommend a good Helicopter Simulator?

Must be Microsoft Force Feedback Compatible.

Thinking about Comanche 4 - any opinions?

Dunno about where you are, but Comanche 4 is in the bargain bin around here, so you could get it for a good price. It's a lot of fun, but most serious players probably wouldn't regard it as a true sim, but stuff that, it is a lot of fun! Problem is, I've had intermittent success with the FF on my Wingman Strike Force in Comanche 4; most of the time it doesn't work and then sometimes it does. Don't have it installed right now, but I am going to give it another try to see if I can get it right this time... because it really is a lot of fun...! :D :p

Go to the SimHQ Forums and ask this question in the Helicopter Sims forum if you're looking for something more serious.

it cant really be called a sim of any kind really (no, i'm not a serious sim person) - the object (in this case helicopter shape), goes up down, forward, back, left & right, in a very 1st person shooter type manner. But as stadleroux says, it can be good fun.

If you're after something that actually attempts to fly like a helicopter, look elsewhere.

If you start looking elsewhere you may want to have a look at this review: Apache Havoc . According to reviews, it's more realistic, but I wouldn't know. It certainly is more difficult to stay in the air, but then, I haven't really played it enough to be any good at it...

My apologies, I should have directed you to this review (Enemy Engaged: RAH-66 Comanche vs. Ka-52 Hokum ), since it concerns the later incarnation of Enemy Engaged . As you can see, it's pretty old, so I don't know if it's still available in your area. It's out of stock locally. :(

Congratulations! Check out Checkpoint Delta's Comanche 4 forum for info and advice, and this update on the Novalogic site. My FF is still not working, but I hope you'll have better luck! :hiya:
