Anyone knows why this film has not yet been released on DVD? Who owns the rights btw?

I'm tempted to say because it's sooo bad but out of politeness I shall not. [IMG] I think I remember you saying you're in Asia Reiner? So this accounts for your admiration for this film. [IMG]

Warner/Regency own the US rights and Canal+ own the European rights.

Don't know if that helps, much.

Is it really that bad? Actually I thought it's a pretty good movie ...
Nevermind, different people got different taste.

But you are right, it may have to do with the fact that I live in Malaysia, planning to go to Vietnam for a holiday sooner or later.

Thanks for the info, might not help as you say but now I know whom to be angry with. ;-)

Course, I'm not sure if it'll be available stand-alone or if it's only out as part of the Oliver Stone boxed set. And the features might not be on a stand-alone disc either, most of his films are getting commentaries, documentaries etc, but you only get to see them if you get the massive boxed set complete with its massive price tag. Not that they've released price details yet, but you can bet it's not going cheap!

Still, if they re-issue The Doors with a commentary etc on its own I'll be a happy bunny. I'm glad I've held out for Born on the 4th July aswell cos that's getting the SE treatment in October.
