Went looking for the Ronin DTS release over at Movietyme, but what do I see? Heat DTS!!!!

I haven't heard anything about this. So just wondering if anyone has got it? and what's it like.

Is it an improvment over the old, not likely to be reissued, 5.1 flipper disc?

Yep, that Korean version is a 2-disc. Disc 1 has the correct aspect ratio of 2.35:1 with DD 5.1.
Disc 2 has the cropped picture 1.85:1 with DTS. Why they used a cropped picture for the DTS version is beyond comprehension.

Can anyone report if the soundtrack is particularly different?

Thanks, sounds like I'm better off keeping my R1 copy. 1.85:1? no thanks...

I have the region 1 version of Heat too.

Good picture enhanced for 16/9 televisions and shown in its correct aspect ratio of 2.35, the sound is Dolby Digital and is very good and the film fits on one disc.

I wouldnt buy a DTS version just because its there i'm a huge DTS fan but a compromised ratio NO WAY.
