Heard on Radio Two - Can anyone identify please

    I was listening to radio 2 yesterday afternoon (sorry but I am over 30) and they played a record by a country type girl singing a cover version of a well known song that was done by Ronan Keating or Westlife, or someone like that.

    Unfortunately I was driving at the time and now cannot remember either the name of the girl or song. Very helpful I know but can anybody have a stab in the dark as I liked it.

    I have a dim memory that her first name could begin with A and her surname with C but I could be well out

    Ok, might be asking a stupid question, but was the song "Baby can I hold you tonight"?

    It was covered by Boyzone, or whatever Irish group keating was in. The original was by Tracy Chapman.

    As I said, I doubt that's the one you heard, but it's the closest I could think of!

    p.s. Nothing wrong with radio 2. I'm 24 and occasionally tune in. I don't like a lot of the programs, but at least they play music on it...

    That's the one. I knew it had an Irish connection. Now it must be easier to find who was singing it.

    Are there any websites that I could look up that sort of thing on ?

    I'm genuinely suprised! I don't normally come close in 'which song is this' questions :D

    I didn't know someone else had covered it, and google didn't yield anything.

    I found it and it wasn't the Tracey Chapman song at all. It was :-

    When you say nothing at all sung by Alison Krauss and it seems to be a few years old.

    Oh I know the song, but not the version. The Keating one used to be 'our song' with me ex. Personally I hated it, but went along with it dutifully :D

    At least you found it anyway. I'm always happy to (try to) help out!
