Hi,

Am getting back into the world of hifi after a LONG hiatus.

my query is....why does sound still come from my loudspeakers when I connect my headphones to my amp?

Maybe help us to help you by giving us the brand and model of your amp.

Hi,
Apologies for the seemingly slow reply....

Amp is a Sony TA-FE330R, speakers are Gale mini monitors and turntable Sony PS-LX330USB.

Not the best setup in the world I know. But it was all that I could afford on my budget with the space I have available.

Lots of people listen to both Speakers and Headphones, so they don't want the Speaker to automatically turn off.

Most amps like this have a switch to turn off the speaker. Typically a Speaker-A/Speaker-B switch will turn the speakers off. I believe this amp has a Speaker On/Off switch.

Probably expecting you to use the big Speakers On/Off control next to the headphone socket...

Thankyou both!

The sheer joy of listening to Crowded House on vinyl. The next best thing to seein em in concert!
