I have a TX-50DX700B (New in December 2016) Can I use two sets of 24 ohm 40mW headphones in the Headphone jack socket via a cable splitter? My Wife and I have poor hearing and our neighbour isn't happy with the sound levels we need from our sound bar!!

You may have volume level issues, splitting reduces the power output level. If so a simple headphone amplifier will sort it out.
