headphone jack adapter help needed please.prob something simple please look in.

    basically i got my dad a pair of headphones for watching tv at night and i got an extension cable but when i hooked up the extension cable to the headphone cable the end terminal is to big for the tv socket:( whats the name of the adapter i need ? hope that makes sence lol.

    I assume you need a 3.5mm male -> 6.3mm female tele adapter, but make sure it's stereo (three sections on the plug).

    You may also want to get a short 3.5mm -> 3.5mm stereo tele extension cable, so that you can plug the adapter and headphone plug into the extension cable instead of directly into the TV. If you plug the adapter and headphone plug directly into the TV, they may weigh down on the socket and increase the risk of it or the adapter getting worn out or breaking.
