Head Trackers

Does anyone here use a head tracker?

Think of getting one but ......

I am in no doubt that the TrackIR is the best but it costs way more than I am prepared to pay, so I'm looking cheaper alternatives. The two I have narrowed down to are

DelanClip and TrackHat

Pretty much the same price. Both use a modified PS3 Eye camera.

Both use the same open source software OpenTrack, though the TrackHat version is customised to be simpler to use (apparently). Of course there is other software like FaceTrackNoIR.

The difference is that the TrackHat uses a baseball hat with LEDs built in whilst the DelanClip uses a metal frame with LEDs that attaches to headphones.

Either would be fine, I don't normally use headphones which is the attraction of the TrackHat but I could, wouldn't be a problem.

Anyone used either or both - trying to decide which one to go for.

Cheers,

Nigel
