Sorry if posted already, only just seen it.
class giz !!!!
Excellent... and not a snake in sight (purple or otherwise)
Nice double entendre in the title, tut-tut Panny
i feel sorry for the guy, elephant spunk is the worst tasting out of all the animals.....so my mate told me anyway....he's in a psychiatric hospital now.
Made me smile and gag at the same time, got to be good!!
I am now off home, Merry Christmas everyone, have a good'un!!
The blasphemy by one of the men in the advert wasn't necessary. Panasonic wouldn't offend people of other faiths, so why offend Christians.
Who me? Or the dude in the ad?
If it was me then sorry, no offence intended.
Now that Ad was funny.....even my bird Wendy found that funny
Happy Xmas everybody....Bob The Builder
No, not you Andy I was referring to the advert.
Interesting. Do you honestly find the use of the expression, "Jesus!" to indicate surprise more offensive than the suggestion a man's face has been drenched in elephant semen?
I was thinking the same.
I was going to say "Jeez", but guess I'd better not (shakes head).
Oops, guess I'd better change my sig too.
I always say to my kids when there is bad language on TV or Films we are watching that extreme situations allow a certain amount of latitude when it comes to language - and that the next time my kids...
a) Are chased by aliens/dinosaurs
b) Are in an exploding helicopter
c) Are shot at with automatic weapons
...that they can use whatever language feels appropriate at the time.
as a christian i am really offended by that advert..............i am in the market for a plasma and its the age old pio 427xd vs px600
Not anymore as a matter of priciple i will not buy a panasonic
There are greater things to worry about in this world than the choice of words on a TV advert
Are you offended by such things in real life, or just because it's in an advert? If the former, what do you do about it? Genuinely curious, not to mention astonished.
Superb!! Absolutely superb!!
I asked a customer of mine the other day, Father O'Brian, at what point did Christianity stop being a cult and become a religion?? He looked up and laughed 'Jesus, I didn't know it had.'
Let's not take things too seriously eh?
Yeah I respect other peoples faiths, but all language develops from somewhere. Upon hearing someone had just received a piece of good unexpected news, like a promotion I might say "oh my god, that's great news news" I'm not a christian, so is this offensive?
Also is that a genuine Panosonic site? Seems to have a very viral feel to it.
Oh come on, you've got to be winding us up, surely?
Jesus that was funny!
if i insulted your mother...would you be placated by people saying "dont take things so seriously" etc etc.
i am not religious at all, i do however have a relationship with Jesus. He is my Lord and saviour and until you have been born again you could never know the pain you feel when someone blashemes. Religious people go to church every Sunday because they feel that if they dont they will not go to heaven. Once you are born again you realise that its not what you can do for God its what he has already done for you that matters.
Tommorrow when you are all opening your presents i hope you will remember that the very reason you are gathered together with your family and celebrating is because of the birth of Jesus.
I do really find that advert offensive and the fact that you are all continuing to blaspheme and making fun of it suprises me
especially the fact that a moderator is involved in this thread.
The advert is offensive, obviously people in life blaspheme and there isnt much that i can do about that other than register my dissaproval, however for such a main stream company to have to stoop so low as to attract customers is not on.
i have given you my opinion and i do respect that you also have yours. I dont want to get into a flaming session. I respect a lot of you guys and the advice and comaradirie on this forum is second to none.
If you don't like something look away, simple.
This whole world tip toes around people like you, and that is why we are going wrong, I can't say something because it upsets a born again christian, I can't tell a joke about muslims in case I upset someone (even if I am with my muslim mates f f s!) I can't ........well you get the idea.
There are a few things that are very close to me that people always joke about, I am not going to go into detail, but they do hit a nerve. However, I know that when people are joking about them they are not aware of my situation, and if they were they would stop and be genuinely sorry, but because I know people are generally good like that it doesn't actually bother me too much.
You have to remember, that even though you believe in God and Jesus, there are a lot of people who do think religion is there to control the weak minded, so you can't expect them to respect the name Jesus in the same way you do.
Personally I beleive religion helps fuel all the evil that is in the world and if we didn't have it the world would be a far better place, it is what divides us all, when you get passed these beliefs we are all pretty much the same, take away the relgion and imho the world start to get on better.
The only thing I try my hardest to do is go through life with out hurting anyone, either mentaly or physically, don't always manage it but I have a bloody good go, I don't need a religion to tell me what is right and what is wrong, people should be able to work that out for themselves.
well said mate my thoughts entirly.
Sorry, this has to be some kind of December April Fools joke.
Just saying the word 'Jesus' in isolation is not blasphemy - it is simply ludicrous to suggest it is.
Blasphemy is 'defamation of the name of God' - how on earth is someone simply saying 'Jesus' defaming the name of god. Complete and utter nonsense I'm afraid.
With regards to what we're thinking about tomorrow when we all open our presents, it is worth remembering that December 25th has got absolutely nothing all to do with Jesus. It's a pagan festival celebrating the feast of the Son of Isis who is the goddess of nature!
