    Hi,

A simple question and hopefully a set of simple answers required.

Having been looking at HDTV requirements and specifications for some time, I want to buy a new Plasma and possibly a scaler of some sort to fill any gaps.

My requirements - at least 50" size, resolution enough to handle 1080 x 1920 (and all sensible HD modes for reasonable future proofing) and no sound requirements on the screen.

I'm going to be watching Sky (probably going to their HDTV offering - boo hiss), DVD (haven't got a new DVD yet as I want to see what happens to Blu-Ray and HD DVD first) and PC/XBOX Inputs (DVI for PC).

So, the question is, what's the best combination?

Don't need justification unless I've asked for something impractical/irrelevant, just suggestions.

I guess that wasn't as simple as I first thought

    :smashin:

    Cheers
    C

No plasma will do native 1920x1080, only the 45" Sharp LCD (dearer than a 50" plasma unfortunately). All will scale unencrypted Hidef internally although only a couple are ready for the Sky encrypted stuff (Pioneer 505, NEC 50XM4?, Panasonic 500 series)

Not that much dearer, actually, you can get it for £4800 online.
