Hi all. I have been trying to find out how to upscale DVDs on a PC to output high definition on my plasma TV. A response to one of my questions pointed me to a freeware plugin called FFDSHOW. AFter some websurfing I came across the following step by step guide. Im not sure my PC is up to the job after reading this however I thought it may be useful to share the info. I hope this is useful to you and would welcome feedback on any results gained and what PC equipment was used:

No apology required - this is a mutual help board.

Have fun ! lots of options in FFDSHOW and it takes some fiddling with.

Have it working now (after some tears) but am think I may be better trying to exploit my hardware (7800GT) more instead of doing it all in software. trouble is I think I need yet to be delivered Nvidia drivers for that (plus their purevideo codec).

WiIl start with the purevideo codec I think and compare it to FFDSHOW. Then maybe just add ffdshow tweaks to the hardware produced pic. seems to make sense.

Long winded way of saying - you may have other options.
