Does anyone know of or have any football clips in HD?

I really want to see what is coming next year, the Hammers in quality 720p, but for now any team will do.

When i say football, i mean the true international game and not the American one which doesn't use the 'FOOT'.

Likely it should start before this season ends, so that won't be a problem.

It would be nice to have a clip to see if it is worth the money. I will only really be buying it for the football. I watch every game, and on my projector they are a bit poor.

If there aren't any football clips, how about any other team sport, involving people and fast motion.

There's an h264 mpg floating around of 30 seconds of a football match, that's supposed to be really good quality.. unfortunately that's how I found out the Showcenter 200 doesn't support h264 :( so I've never seen it even though I have the file.

Highlights from the CL final were floating around on the net, I've not seen them though.

Only current sporting clips I know of are the golf which isn't quite what you're after.

    Stevos,

Can't offer any clips but there are several sponsors of the forum that can show you HDTV now. Where are you?

    Stevos,

I may have a few clips from Euro 2004 somewhere. I shall see if I can dig them out, and send them to you. I will PM you if/when I find them.

    Cheers

Cheers for all the help, and links / files would be great.

I am in Colchester, the retails around here only appear to have almost graphical demo's. I still haven't seen any (out side australia) that show fast movement.

It reminds me of all the retailers who show animated films on plasma's to hide their problems.

As part of the rolling HD demo they have in Comet (rolled out to 4 sets via a PC and HDMI distributor) they have a few clips from Sky complete with new nice SkyHD logo embossed on the ends.

One of these clips is of the footy (West Brom goal I think), and the quality wasn't quite was I was expecting. There was a fair amount of motion stutter and a few artifacts. I checked on one of the sets and it was a 720p picture it was receiving.

I'm really hoping HD isn't just concentrating on using the new codecs and bandwidth to carry the higher resolutions, but ignoring the bandwidth needed to not leave obvious visible artifacts on moving images.

Might have been the demo that was created for a trade show last year, very poor example of what HD could do but it was an early unoptimised use of the mpeg4 codec and really should not be considered as demo material.

I hope it's that clip anyway it would explain the stutter:)

The only reason I built a new PC back in Janurary was to play and store HD video, mpeg2 smooth as silk but mpeg4 jitter bug city:)

I'd be after some footy clips aswell, however it would probably be best if you dug them out and uploaded them somewhere for all and sundry to grab.
