HDTV DVI Switch Dilemma

Hi Everyone,

I need some advice for a Philips 42PF7520D HDTV i have which unfortunatelly doesn't have HDMI and only one DVI and 3.5mm audio input. I have a Xbox 360 with HDMI and a Shuttle PC with DVI connectors which i want to connect to the TV.

I understand i need a switch to put these together and found something like this
2 Port DVI-D Switch with Audio: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

but i would like to know if there is any automatic switchers available. The one above also seemed quite cheap, does that mean they don't necessary hit DVI/HD standards? I don't think there is any point in buying HD and bolting on a cheap switcher but at the same time i don't want to spend more when the cheaper alternative will be just as good.

Also am i missing anything? I've already got an adapters for the Xbox (HDMI to DVI) and RCA to 3.5mm.

Any advice or ideas would be great.
Thanks in advance.
Chris.

Hello keypepper

The Octava HDS3 (3x1) HDMI switch will work as required with HDMI and DVI signals if you just need to switch the Video signals; see 3 port HDMI switch. Version 1.3. 3x1 HDMI switcher to share 3 HDMI sources with 1 HDTV for incredible HD experience.

Our latest unit is a 3x1 HDMI + Stereo audio unit.

The HDA31-UK will be ideal for you if you want to simultaneously switch your HDMI/DVI video signals plus an Analogue Stereo audio signal; see 3x1 HDMI switch with L/R Stereo Audio routing. Version 1.3, 1080P. Route HDMI video and L/R Stereo Audio to HDTV.

Our first batch of stock of the New unit is due into the UK on Tuesday.

Joe
