From the BBC Technology page.

The article quotes interestingly that HD CRT sets will be made for a third of the cost of Flat screens and account for the bulk of sales and take off in the next 2 years.

Can't say as I've seen a true HD set yet, or are the Hitachi ones?

Anyone know of any due out?

I think one has to be very careful with these price comparisons.

Being a much older technology, CRT prices have stabilised.

Who knows what plasma/LCD screens will cost in a couple of years?

The latest Samsung CRT RPTV SP-43W6HE claims to be "1080i ready". It is a little confusing, since it has a dot pictch of 0.52 mm, just like the 47Q7, which doesn't claim this. It could be the Samsung sites that aren't updated.
