You can hook Sky up with component and get all the resolutions, it will down scale to 480lines as that is the resolution of your screen, but don't worry it will look stunning and far better than some so called "HD-READY" screens that are out there.

If at a later date they only allow PPV films etc. to go out on the HDMI connector, you would need a converter to strip the hdcp and allow you to go in on the vga input. But worry about that in a couple of years.

The PW4 is a standard def panel so it doesn't have enough pixels to display a high def picture. Fed component video from the upcoming Sky HD box it should give a picture, and probably a better picture than current sources but it won't be high def.

    The DVI board won't help.

Hi-Def is not just about resolution, it plays a big part in it but there is so much more.

Pal tv is broadcast at 720x576i
Pal DVD is also at 720x576i

However a DVD of the same film shown on TV can look quite a bit better, and the same goes for the other way round.
You will be impressed with HD even on an SD screen.
