How much of a difference will connecting via HDMI make?
I've just bought an HD-E1 and I have a DPX-1000 projector. I currently have it connected via component. It looks terrific. So much better than SD DVD did.
My amp doesn't have HDMI.

Hi webstereo. :)
It depends on the TV really :) but the E1 has good component out  so you might not see much of a difference.
All the best.

one advantage is that the single hdmi lead is so much thinner than the triple component leads.

i had my XA1 connected via HDMI direct to the tv,and the picture was fantastic.Recently though after a bit of a shift round of kit ive connected the XA1 via Component, and id have to say that i prefer it,the picture seems to have much more depth, not sure as to why this would be though. So if your happy with component id stick with it,as your player, like mine, wil only output 1080i.

The projector sorts out the de-interlacing though.
True it will be a tidier option.
I suspect you are right. Why bother when I'm very happy with how it looks now.
Thanks for the responses.
